PreCanskate

This program is for children 2-5 years old with very little skating experience.  Group lessons are provided with Club Coaches as well as Program Assistants and include learning to stand on the ice, moving forward and backward, stopping, turning, falling and getting back up.  All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet


 Canskate

 This program is for skaters who have had some experience on the ice.  Group lessons are provided with Club Coaches as well as Program Assistants and include skills outlined in Canskate Stages 1-6.  These include skating forward and backward, one foot and two foot spins, spirals, scallops, sculling and other basic edges. All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet.

 Enrichment

 This program is an invitational lesson program that compliments our Canskate program.  Group lessons are provided with a Club Coach.  This is for skaters who show a love for the sport and an interest in moving along in their skating skills.  This program provides additional training to advanced Canskate skaters who are working towards moving to the Junior session in the next season. All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. 


Junior

 This program is for skaters working on completing Stage 7, Preliminary Dances and Preliminary Skills.  Group lessons are provided with Club Coaches and Program Assistants.  Skaters do not require a helmet. Graduation to Intermediate requires the completion of two of the following: Preliminary Dances, Preliminary Skills and the first half of the Preliminary Freeskate. 



Intermediate

 This program is for skaters working on completing their Junior Bronze and Senior Bronze Dances and Senior Bronze Skills.  Group lessons are provided with Club Coaches for a portion of each session with the balance of the session for individual practice or private lessons. Graduation to Senior requires the completion of two of three of the following: Junior and Senior Dances, Junior and Senior Bronze Skills, completion of the Preliminary Freeskate.  

 


Senior

 This program is for skaters working on completion of their junior, silver and gold dances, skills and freeskate.  Skaters receive 15 minutes of stroking from the club and use their remaining time for freelance lessons and independent training.
